June, 2011 As part of his European lecture tour Shawn spent time relaxing, seeing the sights & dining in Porto. Two days later he gave an outstanding lecture to a four minute standing ovation. After the lecture at a reception that included several glasses of Port wine , Shawn was presented with an award and stayed on until the wee hours showing his new ideas & inventions. Bob Little Honored |
November 3, 2010: Italy - On October 14-17, Bob Little was honored by the CMI (Magicians convention) and received an
award from Domenico Dante - Bob set up a foundation there years ago to honor the memory of his wife Barbara. The funds are used to
present awards at the convention.

Israeli Holy Land Assembly 184 |
October 31, 2010: Israel - The Israeli Holy Land Assembly 184 performed Houdini's broken wand cermony, which took place at Mofet Hall in Tel Aviv.
Yosi Notkowitz did a broken wand ceremony and recounted Houdini's life history.

Thomas Driver Grave Refurbished |
Updated September 7, 2010: Wellington, New Zealand, August 27, 2010: Robert Kudarz (aka Thomas Driver) died in 1922. He was member #167 of the Parent Assembly and a friend of Harry Houdini.
At the time of his death, friend Billy White arranged for the grave which was purchased in 1929 and donated to the S.A M. Graham Grant send us an estimate from the Karori Cemetery for funds to repair
the site. In 1999 the money was provided by the SAM Magic Endowment Fund and Graham Grant arranged the repairs. Weather conditions over the years eroded the area and thanks to Mr. Michael Woolf with
help from the Endowment Fund replaced the missing "broken" wand. A ceremony was attended by some of the descendents of the Driver family. Michael performed a broken wand ceremony with the wand

Posted June 12, 2010: On a recent visit to Singapore, International Deputy Tony Brook formally conveyed Magical Greetings from SAM President Elect Mark Weidhass and presented IBM Ring President & SAM member John Teo with the 2010 pins depicting Kellar and a "friend in the SAM". ASSEMBLY 272 GOES UNDERGROUND! |
Posted June 28, 2009: On June 19th & 20th, Assembly President and SAM International Deputy Dr. Anthony Darkstone (aka Tony Brook) together with 272 member Kristine from Norway, wowed audiences some 3 miles underground in a former Silver mine in Kongsberg, Norway. Once a fully operational Silver mine, it is now an Events venue and has a stage and performing hall hewn out of rock. This is the first time ever a full Magic gala show has been performed underground in Norway and in all likelihood in Europe. Another first for the SAM. Magic Cow Comes to Tokyo! |
September 12, 2008 - Japanese RVP Steve Marshall designed a Magic Cow now entered in the Cow Parade In Marunouchi, Tokyo. The Cow Parade originated in Sweden in 1988 and has since been replicated in many cities around the world including, New York and Paris. This is the world’s largest public festival for local artists. Steve’s Magic Cow has a secret built in magic trick so local magicians visiting the cow can have the cow do a card trick. Watch the video below - enjoy!

April 15, 2008 - Members and guests of South Korean Assembly 290 enjoy their first Assembly meeting at the Dong-A college in Mokpo, South Korea.
The charter members have the distinction of organizing the first Assembly in Korea. The meeting was brought to order by newly
elected Assembly President, Kim Se Jun. Lots of magic was presented and topics were discussed for upcoming meetings including a

First SAM Assembly in Macao, China (#288), hosted their first meeting event March 10. |
Twenty Six new SAM members of Assembly # 288 in Macao celebrated their charter March 10.
President Raymond Iong announced the celebration highlighted with guests from Hong Kong,
Taiwan and Mainland China. The day long event began with an inauguration ceremony by
Li Sheng president of the IBM Ring #311. Ten members of the new Assembly performed
followed by close-up and a lecture. Many of the Chinese guests plan to join the S.A.M.

European Deputies Appointed by Society of American Magicians |

January 30, 2006 - In a continuing effort to "build bridges" among magicians, the Society of American Magicians National President, Richard Dooley announced the appointment of three new International Deputies in Europe.
Domenico Dante of Italy has been appointed as International Deputy - Continental Europe. Andreas Swatosch has been named International Deputy for Austria; Tony Brook, International Deputy - Portugal. The new Deputies will work as liaison officials to bring greater awareness of the S.A.M. to their regions while cultivating new members abroad. They will be able to answer members' questions and promote the camaraderie among the existing members in their regions.
Other International Deputies around the world are Terry Seabrooke (UK), Shintaro Fujiyama (Japan), Yosi Notkowitz (Israel) and Alan Watson (New Zealand).
Please join us at the S.A.M. booths at the World Magic Seminar in Las Vegas, the Blackpool Convention in England and at FLASOMA in Bogota, Colombia this month.

Falkland in the Kingdom of Fife, Scotland during the weekend of August 13-15. The event was
Produced by Mark Fisken & Jay Scott Berry. Ali Bongo of England, joined Charles Brook and
Tony Brook of Assembly #272 (Portugal) . Tony is President of the Assembly. Both Charles
and Tony were also awarded The Circle of Palace Magicians Award. Other well known performers
included Patrick Page, Jay Scott Berry, Piet Forton as Pierre de Beaufort, David Goldrake and
Mark Fisken as Kramus Nexifus. Apart from his performance as Dr. Anthony Darkstone at the gala
