About the Veteran's Program
The Society of American Magicians has a long tradition of service and the Veterans Program is no exception. Through the Veterans Program, S.A.M members volunteer their time and talents to entertain our Vets, primarily at Veterans Hospitals throughout the country. It is a great way to show thanks to our veterans, spread the goodwill of the S.A.M and have fun.
The success of the program depends solely on the efforts of S.A.M members. I encourage everyone to take a little time and volunteer, the reward is far greater than the sacrifice.
Thank you,

Vinny Grosso,
Veterans Program Chair
Goals of the Veteran's Program
The goal of the Veterans Program is to perform at least one show annually at every VA Hospital in the country. That is a challenging goal, but with a little help from a lot of people, it is achievable. Although our primary goal is to perform at every VA Hospital in the country, this does not preclude our members from performing at other, not for profit, Veterans venues.
Insignia & Recognition
To the left is the insignia of the Veterans Program. It is the traditional support ribbon formed from a magic wand. In the center is the adopted symbol of veterans, the "buddy poppy". Overlaid on the poppy is the emblem of the S.A.M.
The Veterans Program insignia has been made into a lapel pin and will be presented to all S.A.M. members who volunteer and perform through the Veterans Program. To qualify for an award a member must have participated as a performer or as a support member at the show.
